Bridging Ancient Culture and Digital Innovation
ChinaFlix is a specialized streaming platform and audiovisual project dedicated to rare and unseen Chinese cinema. The challenge was to create a visual identity that could encompass both the thousand-year-old traditions of China and its current status as a global leader in future-driven technology.
Moving Beyond Visual Poles
The cliente needed a brand that avoided common clichés while remaining recognizably eastern. The visual system had to be versatile enough to scale across multiple sub-brands, across different media platforms and various digital touchpoints, ensuring a sophisticated appeal for a progressive and informed global audience.
The Symbiosis of Duality
During the conceptual phase, I identified that the brand’s power lies in the contrast between the rural, traditional, urban and technologial. The insight was to treat the identity as a bridge connecting millenial wisdom with the rapid innovation of a global powerhouse.
A balanced and responsive system
Visual Strategy: I selected a pallete featuring “Forest Green”(natural and rural life) and “Ancestral Red”(culture and impact), balanced by ochre tones to evoke sepia, historial feel without feeling dated.
Execution: I paired Beba Neue Pro for strong, cinematic titles with Playfair Display to add a touch of erudition and elegance, creating a hierarchy that feels both urban and traditional.
Scalling cultural impact globally
The final result is a responsive and scalable identity that thrives in the digital enviroment. By delivering a comprehensive Brand Guide and Instragram-ready assets, I empowered ChinaFlix to launch a cohesive ecosystem where rare content is presented with the professional with the professional prestige it deserves.
